Classic Puppy Chow

PUPPYCHOW
The other day, I really wanted a treat. You know how that goes…
I didn’t feel like turning on the oven and I didn’t have ice cream, so I went for the quick, easy and classic Puppy Chow.

Ingredients

9 cups of Chex (any flavor, I used Rice)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
2 tsp. vanilla

1.5 – 2 cups of powdered sugar

First thing you do is you put the butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips in a bowl/pot, depending on whether you are heating in the microwave or stove. Either way works great. If you are using the stove, stir contents constantly until melted smooth so it doesn’t burn on the bottom of the pan. If you use the microwave, heat in one minute increments, stirring between heating periods, until melted smooth.

After the mixture is melted, stir in the vanilla.

In a bowl or Ziploc bag, whatever your preference, mix the Chex and the chocolate sauce.  Then add in the powdered sugar.

Put in refrigerator until cooled. Store in airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Don’t worry…it won’t last that long.
